"...in Australia, Julia Gillard backstabbs Krudd, thus delaying MasterChef via the Late News, making GIANT headlines all around the country and making a million (well, actually, probably more than a million!) people swear to vote for the Greens. Also, she manages to almost delay THE FINALS of MasterChef in the Leaders' Debate. But MasterChef then has to be delegated because the people of Australia demanded it. She takes her revenge by putting fifty billion "Moving Forward" ads in the ad breaks of MasterChef. Abbott (is it one T or two?) decides to join in by putting in HIS "Support Real Action" ads so that all you see in the ad breaks are politicians convincing you to either vote for them, or not vote for the other major party, or a mixture of both, thus making people want to support Greens even more and thus leading to our first Greens MP. Turmoil in Parliament House- everyone who still hasn't sworn to vote by Greens can't decide who else to vote for, so it's almost a hung parliament, thus making lots of people angry because they can't be bothered going back to the voting booths.
Congrats, Gillard. (Can you please get rid of NAPLAN now?)
You know, every time the screen says "Julia Gillard- Prime Minister" on the news I just think, "Well, of COURSE she's the Prime Minister, I think everyone knows that by the way she became Prime Minister!""
Well, I was attempting to argue my point that Australian politics is nowhere near as convoluted as American politics (I mean, look at all the assassinations and shootings and attempted murders of politicians!), but it's kinda hard to argue with that.
Gosh.
